Hi guys,

MPE's coming soon and I've got questions to ask regarding some modules. Hope the friendly seniors here can help out with these queries! :look:

  1. CS2100. Heard that it's more difficult/harder to understand in Sem 1 than in Sem 2.. Is it true from your experiences?
  2. IS3101. I'm a Y1, going on Y2. The only pre-requisites are IS1103 and IS1105. But is it too early, and will I be at a disadvantage (e.g. not knowing about some technical knowledge as compared to Y3/Y4s) by taking a lvl-3000 mod in just Y2S1?
  3. CS2102. Heard that should take CS2102 before IS2103, cos some of the stuff taught in IS2103 requires CS2102 knowledge?
  4. IS2104. Any idea what is it about? Seems like it's something like IS2101, but is it? Better to take in Sem 1 or Sem 2?

Hope you guys can help clarify my queries on these mods.. Really confused here :s11: Thanks! :s21:

I hope it is still not too late.

1) Not sure as i am exempted from this module.

2) Yes, you will definitely be at a disadvantage as compare to Y3/Y4 students knowledge. But it is not significance as long as you put in effort in understanding the materials.

3) Yes, if you have zero knowledge of database. But it is up to individual. If you are willing to spend extra time in understanding how databases work during your IS2103 lab, you should be fine.

4) I took IS2104 sem 1 about 2 years back. I am not sure about the syllabus in the previous few sem. During my time, it covered teamwork and team management knowledge. Those groupthink, team learning, conflict management stuffs.. It is nothing close to IS2101.
