NUS Law interview

Hi, it’s my first time posting on this form so apologies for any mistakes

I got my NUS law interview date and today they announced that the written test is cancelled, so our entry into law will be 100% dependent on the interview. The thing is, I am more confident in the written test, and am HORRIFIED about the interview. I really want to get into law, and I’ve heard of so many people failing the interview, I don’t want to fail the interview also. Is there any one out there with any tips to do well for the interview?

i am grave digging this thread 1 year later.

does anyone have any insight on what the interview and written test consist of?
any way to prepare for them ? i understand the written test cannot be prepared much since all materials will be provided anyway.

but what about the interview?

i am referring to the LLB / JD programmes.

Sharing back to the community since i received no response on my post above.

Interview & Written test were taken 1 week apart.

Interview was 15 minutes long. The two interviewers would enquire about your CV and ask related questions, and ask your opinion on some matters that could be of interest from a legal perspective in Singapore. Quick Q&A session would wrap the interview.

Written test was 2 hrs long. There was a long IT preparation/setup due to the very tedious process required by setting up Zoom, Examplify etc. So in total it actually took 3 hrs+ of my life.

The test itself was a hypothetical question to be answered basing on whatever PDF attachment was provided. In particular, I got a hypothetical on scandalising contempt of court in Singapore. The 2 questions provided were on whether someone would/should be charged based on the provisions dealing with this instance and why/why not.

While I gave the wrong answer to the question (based on my research post-exam), I understand the purpose is more to see how you logically reason around your thesis and your skills for legal argumentation.
