OCS OOC Pro Term

I just ooc-ed last week, 2 weeks into OCS pro term due to a knee injury. I have the choice to recourse in 6 months but that would mean having to extend my ORD date.

Should I recourse? And if I choose not to recourse, what will my rank be and what are possible postings for me, spec?

Last time once you reach 3 white bar OCT, you will OOC as 3SG. But now I hear course is shorter so first few weeks of 3 white bar OCT may only OOC as CPL.

Vocation unknown if you OOC now. I think you should recourse since you are already in pro term or else it is a waste of time in OCS.

I dun really want to recourse cos I have always wanted to ooc but I forced myself to go thru the course. Now that i bobian ooc cos of my knee, me recoursing is like putting myself back into something I dislike.

But if I don't recourse, and kenna some bad posting, I might regret not recoursing.

Thanks for the info. Sian thought got chance to be a spec since I completed service term. If I recourse, will have to wait till June and by then I doubt I will be motivated to go thru pro term.

do you value 6 months of freedom more or the remaining X numbers of months if POSSIBLE but not confirmed bad posting.

you may want to consider reservist obligations too. a long time ago i also ooc after getting the 3rd white bar and chose not to recourse. I got reposted as sec comd in infantry unit. the posting was crap, but it turned out to be a good thing because i am still in a holding unit for reservist at 33. as a wospec i will likely do less than 7 cycles (most likely less than 7 high keys too) before MR at 40, rather than the full 10 cycles as an officer.

Cause SAF never call you back for reservist.

If they call you back after your ORD, Officer & WOSE serve the same 10 ICTs.

Only when they don't call you back then there is a different in doing IPPT until 40 year old (WOSE) or 50 year old (Officer).

Check with your commander asap if you OOC now, will you become a CPL or 3SG. This will help you in making a better decision.

If you did not downpes, most likely you may end up Infantry Spec (if you are now in OCS - Infantry Pro Term). As Sect Cmdr in SIR unit, you are even worst then now. Your men may not follow your order & you get s.h.i.t order from officer. It is nothing like the movies such as 报告班长 when NCOs are big shot KPKB around the men.

So it always better to be a man or officer but never spec.
