Hi just wanna ask... I'm currently 130kg, and wanna take up cycling to lose weight. Currently looking at some 2nd hand aleoca and valos folders as its cheap and convenient. But a short google shows that such bikes are not fatty-friendly, being able to support max 100-110kg.

So anyone has any experiences of overloading such bikes? Much help appreciated:s13:

Hey buddy, I'm close to your weight but I spent more on a better quality foldie, got myself a travelo FS-S at $889.00.

Sounds reasonable but do test out if brakes, gear shifting and wheels fairly true when u test ride ;) Oh and make sure correct size for your height/inseam

Thanks for the advice, a used ATX 27.5 2 is selling btw 300 to 500. I checked giant website and it recommend a M size frame for my height, how do I check if the wheels are true?

lift bike on one side (top/bottom) if the wheels seem to wobble side to side excessively it's untrue

I am thinking of cycling to work, office at concourse beach road. I saw there are bicycle parking areas at basement carpark. However, not sure how to enter the carpark from outside. Is it the same entrance as how cars go in?
Anyone cycle to concourse to work, can advice me?

Not exact location but sharing moi experience:

#1 Best have a backup bike on standby in case tires punctured overnight no time to swap out tube before work

#2 Dress to be visible (bright, loud colours better) Gloves if your journey long but i always have them on cos like the grip

#3 Wet weather plan : if like me you'd cycle on even in wet weather pack a raincoat on your bike? Also wet conditions best have disc brakes rather than rim brakes...

Thanks for sharing. Yep i have got gloves and my bike is using disc brakes. I guess I will just go to basement carpark through same entrance as cars. Just need to turn on my tail light to warn any vehicles behind me.
