I cant use my PlayStation portal. Thanks to the Playstation Blackout and me not randomly downloading games on PS5 to play and try.
I have re-installed my STEAM after a good 5 years lol.
Thanks for reminding me, I was telling my wife I'm supporting the post blackout by inserting disc, get the update, and disconnect the cable. I totally forgot can't use Portal with that mindsetI cant use my PlayStation portal.![]()

State of Play have always been hit or miss. Prefer to watch once it ends (instead of watching live during premiere), so can skip all the filler which is a waste of time. That was a shitty State of Play
From my understanding, the wording on PS Blog implies that although no more discs from 2028 onwards, game stores at retail will still continue to sell 'physical' PS5/PS6 games, the difference now being its a digital version (code in box). It's so important for physical editions to remain in existence for the brand visibility. Physical copies doesn't have to sell well. It just have to remain visible in the physical world.
Wasn't planning to buy at launch initially as it seems to be 30fps across all consoles (fingers crossed for 40fps on Pro in best-case scenario). 60fps & first-person mode likely the main selling point on next-gen PS6/Helix.There's still no word regarding framerate, mainly 60fps performance mode on PS5 Pro. If it's 30fps-only, its a deal breaker & I'll skip it at launch, and wait for the upgraded next-gen PS6 port (instead of double dipping). However if it runs at 60fps on Pro, I'll likely be there day 1. Will wait for official confirmation from R*.
will wait for it to be in ps plus catalogue.Wasn't planning to buy at launch initially as it seems to be 30fps across all consoles (fingers crossed for 40fps on Pro in best-case scenario). 60fps & first-person mode likely the main selling point on next-gen PS6/Helix.
But caved & preordered GTA VI for $80 (during July's 7.7 sale). However come launch if I decide not to play, can easily sell it. As long its cheaper than PS Store ($109), I'm sure there'll be takers.
Moving forward in 2028, will be more selective of which games to buy. As can't sell if I don't like it, unlike physical disc. Will only buy if there are good deals on 'physical' copy at retail (code in box) or wait for deep sale on PS Store.
Not a chance I'll ever pay full price for a digital-only game. Never have, never will.

That's gonna be a long wait. I stopped my PS subscription in "protest" of the no physical disc. Call me childish but most (I say 95%) of my games are physical anyway.will wait for it to be in ps plus catalogue.
My PS Plus subscription just expired on 1st Sep. Didn't renew despite receiving a 25% discount offer ($66 per year). That's gonna be a long wait. I stopped my PS subscription in "protest" of the no physical disc. Call me childish but most (I say 95%) of my games are physical anyway.

I don't think the SOP is that bad at all. I also don't think a movie trailer of a game IP is that out of place.State of Play have always been hit or miss. Prefer to watch once it ends (instead of watching live during premiere), so can skip all the filler which is a waste of time.
There's no doubt its one of the worst SOP in recent memory. Starting off with a movie trailer is out of place.
Only a handful of games interest me, namely Until Dawn 2 & Wolverine.
Yah, I think "Code in a Box" will be what's happening in the near future. With some maps, print arts, stickers, keychain, etc insert into it. (bring back game manual! From my understanding, the wording on PS Blog implies that although no more discs from 2028 onwards, game stores at retail will still continue to sell 'physical' PS5/PS6 games, the difference now being its a digital version (code in box).
So as you've mention/hope, it will still continue to have visible presence in the real world.
Even if Sony reverse their controversial & unpopular decision amidst the backlash (very unlikely), its only a matter of time before they do it again & go full digital the generation after that.
No disc absolutely sucks, but it is what it is.
The last memorable Sony presentation imo is the back-to-back showcase in Jun & Sep 2020. With the reveal of new hardware, price/release date & plethora of next-gen games being shown.I don't think the SOP is that bad at all. I also don't think a movie trailer of a game IP is that out of place.
However, I think the presentation of SOP is really bland. Worse of the 3 platforms. Need to overhaul the format.
