I actually respect her leh, she has courage to do something which few would take on. I'm not familiar with Taoism or folk beliefs, but keeping my mind open I do appreciate multifaceted practices like what she's doing.

I do practise esoteric Buddhism too, and there are some areas of similarities which I can identify with. Anyways, very happy there is freedom of religion here in Singapore. Everyone can earn their own upkeep in their own unique ways, without fear or favour. Thumbs up to a nice story by Stomp.

Not sure about this one, but think got heard stories this kind often its the so called 'deity' chose them for the job one. They have to have some affinity to it. Some is the body easier for such to 上身.

Some condition so serious, if don't do it, the life also quite disruptive when they may on and off ki-tang, kanna 上身 by passing ones. Those non believer or don't know about such one will think they crazy, constantly send them IMH.

But if they go under a 'deity' protection. Except for the routine duty need to perform at the temple/sin-tua event, rest of the time they can still live a normal life. Neighbourhood got heard one female ki-tong is like that.

Some is don't believe don't want do so, thus they seek medium help to push it away. So that their life can go back normal. But think they old liao still have to have pay back one. Can be helper at sin-tua and such. Its a so called divine debt they owe.
