Imo, investment is like gambling. There's odds & risks. Never ever invest $ that ure not prepared to lose.

Ppl flipping properties also subject themselves to risks. Not just risk of market force, but risk of construction defects.

Ppl queuing & buying lottery weekly, also subject themselves to risk of losing their bets.

Bottomline, if wanna play with fire, gotta know that fire can burn. Wanna go skydiving, gotta know the chute may fail.

investment is nothing like gambling. investment is boring, like watching grass grow, according to Buffett :s13:

big boys with deep pockets diversify their monies everywhere, like scattering beans. while their targeted yield is some sky high figures. of cos they view it as watchign grass grow la.

but for majority of the salaried workers category, slight market movement can cause panic attack & send ppl to hospital. those with small risk appetite who invested in high risk maneuvers, may even end up in obituary page :s13:

agree to a certain degree.
I build mine from the ground up, slowly injecting funds every now and then.
Was much easier using scb back then.
Luckily enough, no major GFC since started investing.
Not sure how most can survive the next GFC.

Anyway, why dig thread?
