Whoa.. your day 1 definitely a lot of walking......

I have a small trip report done a few years back.... if you want to have a look on what can you see in various areas, especially for your day 1 and 2.

We had this crab meal in the Nishiki Market area (stumbled upon it and decided to eat there instead of going back to Kyoto Station for Tempura dinner)

PS: I may also take note of where you visit since we are going back to Kyoto with Osaka and surrounding area end of this year..... must start planning already hehe

Thxs James but crab meal is exp I feel not gonna try it.
I'm thinking whether to try fugu steamboat set and dolphin and whale sushi pity horse meat sashimi not available only at some other place in Japan.

Might consider an onsen if time permits

There is a great buffet place in Osaka to eat good beef, crabl legs and fish, yummy cheese tofu style desert. Better yet Monday is cheap at 2400yen. Tons of jap go there super popular, need an address and number? I have to get my sis in law to share it with me. Reservation required!
Last 2 week I went there have fugu.

There is a onsen place near yamazaki jr station. I love the suntory yamazaki tour. Free tour and tasting.
Onsen place have a mushroom farm, let u pick and grill starting spring. Jap is famous for their shiitake

Went to this onsen - takatsuki kashida onsen
Paid 2000 yen for a meal and a room for me to use for 4hrs and access to the onsen. I like the view soaking outside. One can opt to stay for the nite but we didn't

Hijacking TS thread....
I'm also going for 6 days(5 full days) and thinking of 3 kyoto + 1 osaka + 1(kobe or nara). With only 1 day left, I like to ask Nara or Kobe which will be more worth it? I'll be staying in Osaka for the whole trip so Nara/Kobe will be a day trip.

I personally prefer Nara to Kobe, got a different 'feel' from Osaka. Anyways are you a foodie? If so then gotta go Kobe to jiak the Kobe Steak. Sort of like a meat pilgrimage. If you're not interested in any of the other Kobe attractions like the earthquake museum then go Kobe jiak early lunch then shoot straight to Nara for the rest of the day lor, that's what I did, was also based in Osaka.

how much does it costs for the b-mobile? im not sure of nara. scared not enough time to fully enjoy what nara has to offer.

time is really tight.

Got the B-Mobile for about S$32 after conversion... the rate was high last dec...

Btw what is the Haruka + IOCOA package? I purchased both separately.

i just came back from my kansai trip

for nara you can try out this for lunch, we waited for about half an hour from 1130am so you shld be there early, if not the queue would lengthen considerably
Kamameshi (Iron Hot Pot) at Shizuka in Nara - Picture of Shizuka, Nara - TripAdvisor

kyoto station has a ramen street at the 10th floor, i went into a random store and i dare say there ramen is on par, if not better than ichiran. i forgot the name but they sell their stock soup with noodles which you can bring home outside their store for 1200 yen

osaka can go to yakiniku rokko. food is fantastic and service is even more so and it is run by a family, they speak english fluently too. make sure to make a reservation before hand and you get a free drink if you show them their website.

day 1, you might wanna switch kinkakuji with lunch, quite rush if you squeeze that with nijojo between 12-3pm

day 3 you should go for sagano scenic railway, end of the trip there is a nice scenery of fields as well
go for monkey park iwatayama as well, i had lots of fun there but you gotta climb quite a bit up

there is a pokemon centre at umeda as well if you are interested, i spent 1hr 30mins there

for internet, since it was a group of 4, we got a mifi from http://www.globaladvancedcomm.com/ for 5700 yen in total only
