Eh-SUS is the American pronunciation.

Cos I know it originates from Pegasus

Anyone whose first language is Latin based (Italian, Spanish etc) will use 1 as well.

This issue only happens when the vowels are not well defined like in English (knn one vowel has 3-5 pronunciations)
