hi all,

i'm looking to buy an alternative set of charger for my MBP but the original apple ones are vvv expensive...so i bought this anker charger with PD and it's working well with my MBP so far

now i'm looking at an alternative cable so that I dont have to bring my cable around. is it safe to use USB-C to USB-C cables for my MBP?

I've a 20cm USB-C to USB-C cable from my samsung ssd T5... thinking if I can use that to charge my MBP

TIA!

I think Samsung T5 cable only support 60w - good enough if you have 13” and also probably enough if don’t really use the GPU on 15”

You're highly recommended to stick to Apple's cables.
USB-C cables have lots of way to go wrong and your Macbook's ports may get disabled.

Because non-compatible/cheapo USB-C cables can cause damage to your devices

There's even a Google Engineer that does Amazon reviews to help you identify which are the bad cables.

However, you're still highly recommended to go with the Apple route.
