Hello all,

Considering someone who will ORD in 2014 June, if he were to leave the country for overseas studies + internship for 4 - 6 years, how will the reservist system work for him? Will he have to return each year during vacation for IPPT and ICT?

Hi, Just to share my experience.

I ORDed in back in 2005 after which I flew to Australia to study Deg + Masters (6 Years).
All this time, they only called me back in 2007 once for ICT but after informing them about my exit permit and overseas study, I was not called back anymore.

Came back in 2011, took them 6 months to cancel my exit permit, then in Dec 2012, they finally call me back for ICT next week.

In short, if you study overseas, you are safe.
