Palit 660 faulty already?

I just got this card last month and its the end of the road for it already?

On certain games like dota 2 and payday 2, the display will freeze (cannot alt tab, task manager or anything) momentarily while still being able to hear the background sounds and move the cursor. But this problem doesn't persist when I'm on my desktop or some other games. The frequency of this problem is every 1 or 2 minutes when I'm in game.

I've tried several solutions to isolate the problem but all of them to no avail.

If it's really faulty, will there be a 1 for 1 exchange at convergent? Have never rma-ed there before.

Check a few settings.

Have you overclocked it?

Check the overall temperature by using HWinfo.

Check what GPU drivers are you at. If you are installing via the CD, please uninstall it and head over to Nvidia website to download the latest drivers instead.

Have not even tested my 660

Have been using stock clock since it's unpackaging. However, I've tried down clocking too, but it didn't work.

Reinstalled gfx drivers, monitored the temperatures and even watched the resource monitor.

The only thing that stood out to me is that when the freezing happens, the gfx fan speed will drop significantly and then pick up again when the freezing is gone. The fan sound that's produced when your gfx goes from high load to idle and then back to the former again

Mine works fine so far. But I have yet to test with games. Perhaps tonight.

mostly the drivers... try the ones from the cd first... if not update but not to the latest.

Tried every solution I could think of le. I think monday I bring go convergent liao. Anyone knows if convergent offers 1 for 1?
