Palit GFX Card Service

I bought a Palit GTX 980 Super Jetstream last year. Card started giving me flickering issues, no issues when I used onboard graphics.

Brought it down to Convergent and they said they need to keep it till Wed to do testing and monitoring, and if it's faulty, they will send it to Taiwan to get repaired and that will take 1-2 months! And no replacement card in the meantime, they say the best they can offer is a GTX 600 series card.

Anyone can advise if there's a maker who still keeps up 1 for 1 RMA for faulty cards during warranty life? Going to go with that maker for my new GTX 1080.

Nope there isnt.

Simply because there is no buffer stocks for distributors to keep old stocks that are no longer sold in the market. This applies to other brands and models.

They merely keep stocks for new products only or have been in market recently. They will keep buffer stocks till it reached the maturity date.

There is no way and no two ways about it. If distro were to bring in buffers for old cards, its cost to them, and it wont be able to sell as everybody will be buying new model instead.

They will still honor 1 to 1. And that means that if it isnt repairable, they will ship back a new one to exchange with you.

1 to 1 does not mean that they have stocks now to do 1 to 1.

As long as there is a new model, existing models are considered obsolete and may not have much stocks in office.

Same thing happened to me too.. quite surprised as i thought the service centre was located at the main office so that it is more convenient for them to get a replacement..

I also thought they would have a temporary card of equivalent performance to loan.

a bit disappointed because the service centre location and opening hours is quite inconvenient.

Yeah, agree, that's what I thought too. At the very least the turnaround time should be a lot shorter, 1-2 months is just too much.

sent in my gtx970 for a possible display port issue also took 1 month +. normally i would just hoot a new gpu update and sell the old one when it comes back
