Panasonic GF6- Any user feedback

Hi,
Any user uses this Panasonic GF6 ? thinking of buying the dual lenses set.

I am not a fan of DSLR due to its bulky size and camera mainly used for travel and taking family gathering kids photos.

The main user will be my wife whom wanted to have better photos output compare to point and shoot. My worry is she only care to point and shoot and does not want to master some basic,at the end, I will be the slave to spend time to explain everything. she could get pretty good composition photo though.

So a good camera with ease of use is important . Currently we have a point and shoot panasonic TZ10, I was surprised on how easy to use it to produce decently good photos. due to its age, the sensor seems to have drifted ,time to buy another one but with slight upgrade.

At that price, I would not get panasonic.

I have nikon d300 to let go. you won't be dissapointed, excellent picture quality. pm me know if you interested.

You got to go down to the shops and have a feel of the camera. Apart from the technical aspects such as sensor you have to see if you are comfortable with the button layout etc.

If you are talking about image quality I would probably get e-pm2 kit instead. The smallest of PEN series with a proven sensor from its EM-5 big brother.

You may want to read online reviews of these two models and go down to a trustworthy shop and try out.

Qoo10 had a promotion with e-pm2 kit at $349. Now I think is $394.

D300 is very old and heavy/bulky. I am using one. I dont think this is a good substitute for a compact camera. End up still need to buy a small camera.

Compared to E-PM2 which I am using, GF6 is good in a way that the screen can flip up and the interface is better for user-friendliness.
However the out-of-camera jpeg and sensor of E-PM2 is much better than GF6.

Alternatively you can also consider EPL5 or EPL6 which is same senor as E-PM2 and E-M5 and has a flip screen. However, be very prepared to use the unfriendly interface. A few gals I know have much difficulties in using it. GF6 wouldnt be a problem for them though.

For gals, I think GM1 is better as it is more compact. The sensor quality is equal or slightly better than the E-PM2. So this can be a consideration.

There are also some point and shoot cameras that uses larger sensor. These may be good enough if you dont need to change lenses. For basic users, actually no need to buy a lens system camera, since most people would not buy additional lenses in the range of $500-$1000. Most people just stay with kit lens.

PS: I currently have D300, D5100 and E-PM2. Previously owned Nikon D90, Pansonic GF2, G3, GF5 before. Havent count in compact cameras.
