Partnering with Schneider Electric?

My uncle works for a local system integrator company who has recently closed down their business due to the economy downturn. He is planning to set up a company himself and a friend recommended him to look for Schneider Electric to partner with them as their EcoXpert. My uncle specialize in home and office automation.

Does anyone here knows anything about this EcoXpert partner program? Welcome any advice here...

oh no sry to hear about that. i agree with BelindaTan. this might not be the best time to start a business. while the govt has many initiatives to support SEP and SME, its going to be very challenging. and how will your uncle fight with all the big companies out there..

Thanks mrsmartyspecs and BelindaTan. As i am very close to my uncle, it is really disheartening to see him struggling with a major decision to make at such age. He knows it is hard to find a job now but he just does not want to retire yet and he can't make himself stay at home either.

Anyone facing such problem now? What can i do to help him?

Spoken to my uncle last night. He is still keen in setting up a business. I have however shared some upskilling courses with him. Hope he will review and decide what is the best for him at this current stage.

mrsmartyspecs, thank you for the suggestions. My uncle is 59 years old this year. May not qualify for this. I will pay him a visit again this weekend to check out if he has decided on his next career move.
