pasmo and suica can be used interchangeably; doesnt matter which one you get.
mysuica allows you to print your name on the suica card itself. if you lose your suica card, you can get a replacement with the value that you originally had stored in it, minus a fee.

I got a suica card during my June trip, but the card failed to work when my friend tried to use it recently.

They mentioned that I had failed to tap out the last time. Can the card still be used?

Btw, am I suppose to exit the shinjuku station then re enter to board the narita express?

1. bring to station control; "nihongo wakarimasen" and get a free ride - same situation happened to me before.

2. narita express is on platform 5/6 of JR Shinjuku Station. very clearly labelled all over the place.

I am also a bit confused about this question same as you~
Let say if you need to take both Local Train + Limited Express.

For Example -> Shinjuku -> Tokyo (Local JR Train), Then at Tokyo -> Narita (Narita Express)

My understanding is that if you use the Suica from Shinjuku to Tokyo then you need to "Tap out" then purchase a paper ticket (one way) trip from Tokyo to Narita

Buy the NEX ticket from a Midori-no-madoguchi counter. Icon is that of a green man reclining on a seat. If your location is nearer to Nippori than Shinjuku, consider taking the Keisei Skyliner instead. Faster and cheaper.
