Hi guys.

I'm looking to build a cheap for my aging parents.

They'll be using nothing more than just to browse web and watch youtube videos.

Is the Intel G3250 sufficient or can we go cheaper? I would like recommendations on other parts as well.

Regards.

I don't mind AMD. As long as it works fine. Would it be possible to hit below $300? I don't need the peripherals or display.

I would recommend net book as your requirement is not high. They can still watch their favourite drama on-the-go. Give them some hype with same budget.

hdd:toshiba 1tb $65

all prices except for case are from pcthemes. do ask around for price quotes and discount before buying.

Thanks. Is there anyone else that offer similar services like Fortran, where they assist in building and deliver?

most of the stores that sell pc parts in sls will help build it for you if you request it, just that they may ask for a fee.

Up to you to believe, but I have been using a cheap Ivy Bridge Celeron, with 4 GB Value RAM and cheap HDD to surf Web and watch YouTube. So far, I am satisfied with it.

I suppose any last season Haswell Celeron going for cheap should do the job as well.
