Ran into a problem, figured it was probably the motherboard, looking for second opinions.
I recently bought a WD Green HDD for my secondary rig; however, apparently something in the reserved system partition got corrupted in the drive midway through installation, and it's refused to work since. (Yay for WD Greens!)
I tried plugging it into the main rig to reformat it; but apparently it's bricked the rig somehow - the PC has refused to even start since the HDD got plugged in. Pressing the power switch does nothing. No case lights, no fans spinning, no beeps, no mobo standby indicators, nothing.
I've tried taking out all the components one by one; resetting CMOS jumper; changing the power supply (I had a spare Seasonic S12II that I just purchased and knew was working); changing the power cable and plugging it directly into the socket. Nothing has managed to provoke any signs of life.
It's not the PSU, since I tested it in the secondary rig and it works fine. The WD Green might have caused the mobo to fry somehow, but I can't figure out how it could do that. Either way, it seems quite certain it's the mobo that got busted and needs RMA-ing. Thing is, it has no burn marks or any other visual indicators of damage.
Just checking if I might have left anything out that could help me fix it instead of taking leave to RMA the thing.
