Anyone knows where to get the lowest rate for personal loan?

For a straight up personal loan I think it’s still CIMB’s CashLite with an EIR of up to 5.68% p.a. (a bit lower for certain tenors), provided you are a new CIMB credit card customer. You have to apply for a CIMB credit card concurrently (any except the CIMB AWSM low credit limit card), but theirs have no annual fee for life. The CashLite credit limit is up to 70% of your credit card limit, and the minimum CashLite loan is $1,000. They’re tossing in some bonus cash (as a credit card credit) if the loan is for $15,000 or more. There is a prepayment penalty of 3% or $250, whichever is higher. There is no obligation to use the credit card.

If you’re interested in a credit card balance transfer arrangement, you can do better over short tenors. Maybank Fund Transfer ends up with an EIR of 2.96% on a 6 month, $10,000 minimum credit card balance transfer, for example.

Very bad things happen if you’re late or miss a payment, as a reminder.

Anybody see any better offers out there than these two?

Both have substantially higher p.a. EIRs than the options I described. SCB is up in the 7.X% p.a. EIR range, and Credit Culture is even more expensive.

For what it’s worth, HSBC currently gets down to as low as 7.0% p.a. EIR, specifically on a 3 year personal loan and provided you meet their income threshold.
