Anyone have experience travelling to Phnom Penh ?
Can share more ?

Have many doubts:
(A) Do they use their own currency or usd ?
(B) Airport transfer, book yourself online or use grab or use public cab ? Normally how much ?
(C) Any good hotels recommendations ? Have shortlisted few already.
(D) Among all the tourist attractions, which are the ones you can miss ...
(E) Sim card data plan ? How much it cost ? Airport can buy ?
(F) Any tips to share ? Any scam to avoid ?

Thanks.

Interesting!
I have my own Phnom Penh trip coming up in May. Will be staying at TeaHouse Asian Urban Hotel. Did not arrange airport pick up, think I'll just take a tuk tuk.

I will bring usd and change to their currency over there.

Oh, I did pre-book an architectural tour for my first day. Will be on a cyclo with a guide who will show me around PP's old buildings, and explain the history.

a) they have own currency. 4000 = 1usd
b) taxi i think abt 12-15 usd, tuk tuk abt 8-10 usd
c) stay by the riverfront, got more things to eat
d) anything can miss except the s11 and the killing field
e) airport can buy 1usd nia. the best thing on earth.
f) you will be surprise how friendly cambodian are and their level of english. definitely more honest than thai

If you go outside of tourist areas, you might be shocked by the level of poverty. Killing fields requires a good stomach and good self-control, I've seen people cried there a lot. If you have emotional people in your group, better to put that off. Seriously.

Expect that decent (or even street) food would cost you more than in Thailand/Vietnam and even in Singapore (at hawker center) - a meal would cost in US $6-12 range and just because you are a foreigner. Your chance to have a meal in place where locals eat are pretty slim, unless you speak language or some local takes you there.

But people are charming, open and honest, as correct pointed - contrary to Thailand.

Our experience with food prices are comparable with Thailand if we eat at their local market.

The warning here is your stomach must be strong as hygiene is not as good as Thailand and you must be able to withstand the sight of flies on the raw ingredients.

Avoid eating raw food and consuming ice even in restaurants.
