Hi photography lovers , Im new to photography.
I want to ask if any advice on whether which adaptor to use to Extend the zoom of my current Nikon P310 camera without affecting the camera Wide feature?

What are you talking about ? When you zoom in, the FOV will be narrow and hence it is not going to be as wide. Zoom is the action of adjusting your FOV between NARROW and WIDE angles.

I don't think your P&S Nikon P310 can mount any lens adaptor to change the focal length.

Is it as long it fits the size of the lens of the camera if there is a 3rd party product?

Then you must see if there is such a market in the first place. Nikon P310 is not exactly one of those top notch P&S for 3rd party to invest making adapters for it.

There are other technicalities involved when making adapters to apply over bodies and lens that are not initially designed for such purposes.

If you are interested in having a camera that can allow you to mount different lens, why don't you just go and invest in a DSLR. Provided also you find it is necessary to have different lens as your needs.

TS, I think you got to make it clear:
The camera is a P&S which does not have interchangeable lens.
Even if have, the image quality would be inferior when you
attached it to the camera.
If you want something to shoot a longer distance, consider
a DSLR instead.
Or the easiest way is to just walk up in front of the subject
to solve the problem.

Well if you want more control over your camera, DSLR offers such opportunity. It's not all that difficult to get decent photos, but you must be willing to learn how to control and willing to move around and really take photos, try out how to aim, how to manage your exposures etc.

P&S don't give you as much control over the camera, just tons of features to make post processing easier and move controls out of the end-users by automating certain tasks such as exposure control.

If you find the risk high, you can always opt for a 2nd hand DSLR. There are a lot of people always trading their gears in the Buy&Sell section of Clubsnap forum, feel free to visit the forum. There are a lot of photography peers sharing their experiences and art works, don't hesitate to learn from them too.

You don't have to go dslr, a simple slr will do as well, such as olympus (they make good decent interchangeable systems for a good price) You can start slow, and slowly learn. Everyone started from knowing nothing! To answer your question on extending your zoom, you can always crop~ Nowadays pns have so many megapixels, you can crop to quite a good factor and still have a decent image quality.

Because normally I take photo for events , overseas tour and gathering. The DSLR gear make me too confuse on what to buy as the wide amount of equipment is too much for me to compare.

Because normally I take photo for events , overseas tour and gathering. The DSLR gear make me too confuse on what to buy as the wide amount of equipment is too much for me to compare.

The usual APSC (aka crop) DSLR camera that comes with kit lens is a good start. The basic DSLR kit lens are usually 18-55mm lenses. For shooting events, overseas tour and gathering, learn how to play with modes like Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Manual Mode.

TS, since your Nikon P310 is a fixed lens camera, there is no option to change it to lens to one with a longer focal length.

If you do not wish to use cameras with interchangeable lens, the only option is to look for "Super Long Zoom" Bridge Cameras. An example would be "Canon PowerShot SX50 HS"
