physical IB tokens

as above, do we still need them?

i have misplaced a couple of the banks.
and need to pay 20 replacement fee..
how many of you guys managed to get it replaced for free?

but for like DBS, they have the digital token. so there is no need to have the physical tokens.

which other banks still need the physical tokens for transcations??

Dbs can send request to replace token online.

Tell them no power then send replacement, I have recently replace HSBC, OCBC token due to no power. DBS, UOB, OCBC, SCB, Citibank no need token if you have register for their soft token but you need the physical token to the registration. I replace my OCBC hard token just to register for the soft token.

as some pointed, u could report that the battery died and replacement required. however they might need you to head to a branch to exchange over the counter to ensure the integrity of the replacement. the last time my UOB one died last year, i was told to do so.

otherwise banks are gradually rolling out eTokens, so if they allow you to register to eToken without the physical token that's good. when i registered UOB eToken (Mighty App), they needed me to key a OTP which can only be retrieved from the physical token.

Some of them, like cimb, require to bring down the dead token to exchange for free. Otherwise it's 20 bucks

So far, I have dbs, citibank, scb soft token.

But BOC and CIMB still quite backward

Sorry to dig up this old thread. My UOB IB token is about to run out of battery. Does UOB still issue replacement tokens, or have they moved to digital tokens? If the former, how can I request for a replacement token? Thanks in advance.

they have stopped issuing physicals ones. u need to download UOB mighty app which is the replacement product.
