Hi all

Decided to be proactive and start planning my NYC trip for Dec 2017 to avoid the crazy surge pricing. I read that it's actually better/advisable to take biz or premium economy due to the long flight.

Should I buy an econ tix and upgrade with miles? Or jus wack biz/PE? Also I realized that the furthest I can book is till Oct17. šŸ˜“

Adv would be greatly appreciated :)

best is to buy biz ticket. not worth to upgrade econ to biz. SQ can book 1 year in advance IIRC.

What other cities have you planned besides NYC? Are you travelling with kids?

Erm, common sense. Today is 1 Dec. You make a reservation for 15 Dec. Will it be for 15 Dec 2016 or 15 Dec 2017?

Most airlines practice a 331 days to 360 days prior. No airlines nor GDS system will allow you to book 1 year aka 365 days in advance.

Yeah. Realized it when I tried to book. But was considering if should use miles or $ or hybrid for the tix. Thanks though ;)

Depends how desperate you are for the upgrade. Buying economy and then using miles to upgrade, rather than paying high four or low five figures for a business-class ticket SIN-EWR, is going to be better value, but there's no guarantee that there'll be upgrade availability.
