Please help!! first time to SML, Cingjing

Hi there!

I will be going to Taiwan this coming September (hopefully weather is good) and would like to plan a 3D2N trip to Taichung before heading to Taipei.

I am a little lost towards planning my itinerary at Taichung. Would really appreciate if you guys could help me out.

13 Sept
11am - Arrival at Taoyuan Airport, take bus to Taichung
2pm - Arrival at Taichung, check in hotel
5pm - FengJia night Market

14 Sept
10am - Depart for SML
2pm - Depart for Cingqing, overnight at Cingqing (any minsus you guys recommend?)

15 Sept
4am Hehuashan for the sun rise (is it near Cingqing farm)
9am Travel back to Taipei


I am intending to cover these area by public transport and am wondering if it is possible?
As there will only be two of us who will be travelling, hiring a private driver may be quite expensive.

Would appreciate your feedback. Thank you so so much for your help!!

14-Sept: bus takes about 2 hours to reach SML. Don't think u can do much there when you're pulling your luggage around? And you're not visiting any attractions at Cingjing?

Just remove SML from your itinerary...

If backpack not so bad. If lugging a trolley, think at best a drop, shoot n leave strategy. Barely see any tourist pushing their cargo ard. Backpack still is a can do option.

Thank you so much for your reply.

We have made some changes to the itinerary.

We will be heading to Taipei first.

13th - 17th Taipei
17th : Taipei to Cingjing (is it nearer from Hualien or Taichung?)
Would be staying overnight at misty villa.
18th : Hehuanshan in the morning to view sunrise, thereafter heading to Sun Moon Lake.
(Any public transport from Cingjing to SML? or do i have to go back to Taichung HSR to
take the Nantou bus?) Staying overnight at SML.
19th : Depart SML in the morning to Taichung. Feng Jia Yue Shi at night.

I will be travelling mostly on public transport as there are only two of us. Private driver will be too expensive.

Will prefer that you do all the touristy places before Taipei, will not want to go to taipei with all your barangs barangs then up the mountain right?

There is public transport or hail a cab there and tell them to go SML will do. No need to go back to taichung and back.

Say two pax pay about 1k per pax, surely driver will be more than willing to cover you from CJ to SML.

got bus lah.. ask the resort people. either its changed at nantou then take another buy to sml. very simple
