Hi, I'm considering to get a new desktop. Important thing here is as quiet as possible as the setup will be placed in my bedroom where my wife is sleeping. I'm using this for intensive graphics processing, so I'm looking at a high speed GPU and CPU. I'm wondering if watercooling is a possible solution but I'm a noob in this. Haven't DIY for many many years so would need some suggestions from you guys.

No need monitor. OS, yes. Windows 7. Definitely need fast GPU as the graphics use it to accelerate the process.

I think you also need more RAM.

Apart from being quiet, do you have any other requirements e.g. more storage space, small casing etc?

Small casing would be nice. I just wondering how can I minimize the noise. Cos I switched to a notebook setup from my old desktop cos my previous desktop is very noisy. Now that I changed camera (I'm a photographer), my files are larger and now the notebook is making noise liao. My wife thought it was raining. So I'm looking at how to minimize the noise and maximize performance at the same time. RAM wise, I'm looking at 16GB to 32GB.

You can consider getting a silent casing to minimize the noise.

According to LinusTechTips, NZXT H440 is designed for silence. Can consider that.

1.5k a bit tight.

Any way, water cooling does not really equate to quiet. Yes if your entire system can continue to remain cool throughout. Do take note that even on water, you need to have a fan and a pump. Those are bound to have noises.

Any way for a good cooling setup.

MSI H97 PC Mate + i7-4770 ~ $472
Crucial 8gb 1600mhz Value Ram x2 ~ $200
WD Blue 1tb ~ $67
Samsung EVO 250gb ~ $143 (Lazada.sg after 10% discount using Mastercard)
(GPU will depend on the applications you using and will depends on whether you need a mainstream card or a Quadro card)
Superflower HX600 600w 80+ Gold Semi Modular PSU ~ $98 (Lazada.sg after 10% discount using Mastercard)
Fractal Design R4 ~ $121 (Lazada.sg after 10% discount using Mastercard)
LG DVD Drive ~ $21
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM ~ $115

Total ~ $1237. Buy at tradepac unless stated. DIY. NO GPU yet.

Ok, I bought the following items from Lazada's sale:

1. Palit GTX970
2. Fractal Design R4

Stuff that I already have collecting dust:

1. Seasonic 550W
2. Kingston 240GB SSD

Now I probably need a good mobo (Bluetooth built in if possible) and i7-4970 CPU - Any recommendation?
