fujitsu lh532 (last choice)

only looking for light gaming, dota/dota2 etc.

which is more worth in terms of performance and quality? thanks!

All the laptops you have listed are able to play DotA 2 on max settings. In terms of specs & cost, Lenovo Ideapad Y400 is the most worth it. But if you're only going to play game like DotA 2, I suggest to get Asus S46CM/** from outside. It'll cost $999/$1049 with 2 years international warranty. But if you have more budget around $1.5k or more & intend to play more hardcore games, you might want to take a look at MSI GE60 & Aftershock X11/XM17. It's highly recommended to get these laptops if you're going to use the laptop for long hours especially as a main PC at home.

i intend to buy in-house as there will be some software needed for my course(i think) and thus saving the hassle.

as for home use, i have a desktop.

Are you from RP? Coz I only know in RP need to install some programs. Yeah, the Y400 has lots of complains on touch pad and wireless. You can't expect good battery life on i7 quad core laptop with dedicated graphics card. Those laptops with i5-3xxxM or i7-3xxxQM only able to last around 3-4 hours with lowest brightness and light usage like browsing, for gaming only 1 hour or lesser. You can forget to find any laptop that can last 3 hours at least for playing DotA. If you still want to buy the laptop from your school, T430U is the most reliable out of your list.

im from NYP. is optical drive really needed? if no, then t430u is better for me i guess.

It depends on which course I guess, some course want their students to submit their projects in CD. Btw I'm not really sure the T430U graphics card performance, I only assume it's equivalent to NVS 5200M. Saw the brochure, it stated NV N13M-GS 1GB which I never see it before.

Since you have desktop at home, why do you need a laptop that can play games?
I also have dt at home. At first want to bring big and powerful laptop. In the end, after half a year of lugging the heavy laptop and charger around, i decided to use a tiny net book. So much more convinient.
Honestly, smaller is better in this case.

wanted a 14" screen and the t430u is the lightest out of the 5.
