Difficult to find modern laptop that can last more than 5 years? Maybe Macbook or ThinkPad?
Since you have the budget, why not get G14 (or B14)? It's fairly portable and good for work/games.
I help family and friends do procurement for laptops.
From personal experience, only these 2 (Apple iBooks/MacBooks and Thinkpads) have gone on to last for at least 8 years - and they didn't die but were instead passed on to people so at least a few more years in them.
Had an Acer Travelmate run for 4 years before logic board issues, an Ideapad dying after 2y (which taught me that Lenovo != Thinkpad), a few Asus's starting to have hardware/stability issues just after 2-3y or so, and one horrible HP from that period where they put out terrible machines some years back. To be fair, I've also had one troublesome MacBook Pro - that Apple replaced FOC in 2017 with a brand new newer model after it became a little problematic.
