hello. looking at the lzd sales, going for 659 now. am not a picky user, just someone who wants to step in the world of ultrawide screen, mostly for movies and a little gaming (just dota and some simple fps).

Also, am looking to upgrade my rig, what specs do i need to get to support this? i want to get rid of ghosting, my current set up has that and it annoys me a lot. gaming at 100hz is a bonus. budget for this is 2k desktop/laptop.

This is a very high resolution screen. You should be on a 1080ti / 2070 super / 2080 to get smooth gameplay.

Ghosting is due to the screen technology and also refresh rate. I recommend reading the many reviews and posts on here about that monitor to see how bad the ghosting is.

It was recently on flash sale for $599. Still can use bank vouchers to reduce further.

2060 will struggle with 3440x1440. I would recommend 1920x1080 monitors.

Yes, you can read benchmarks for GPUs.

Watch videos. Same panel in all those monitors.

I watched the first video, my main gripe is that it's VA. Am concerned about the ghosting/response time, although the guy says its decent... you have any experience?

Also, any thoughts on how this compares with x490? tbh my budget allows for it, am just not sure if it would be a good experience for casual game/ movies/netflix.

Well... You want big big, curved, high resolution but want it cheap.

Trade offs come from somewhere.

my X340 has minimal ghosting after some tweaking in the settings, just as good as my old dell ips.

x490 has lower res 3840 x 1080, can you take it looking at blurry test.
