Intel latest HD530 seems to be plagued with problems. Flickering and occasional black screens.

Even the latest drivers cannot fix the problem. I believe the best solution is to use an external graphics card since the integrated one is not working. Can someone recommend? I don't need a powerful one. A reliable one will be good enough.

Or you already facing this issue as per thread context or simply don't want to use the IGP after seeing that thread? Seems to me nvidia driver having problem with Windows 10 than IGP itself having the issue, with so many problem lingering nvidia drivers lately.

Have you tried changing nvidia driver as well?

I encountered this problem and stumbled onto the thread. Coincidentallly, it is exactly the problems I encountered. Flickering, black screen ...

It is definitely the IGP drivers problem. After I followed the solution suggested to switch to Microsoft display drivers, the flickering problem disappeared. But what's the point when games cannot be played?

Not using external graphics card at the moment. Considering because the IGP from intel is hopeless at the moment.

If you're so hard on, just consider anything with either a Nvidia or AMD tag on? Might just solve your problem.
