hi there
anyone has a prushield extra plan and able to comment on the new initiative by them. for this card does it mean that I will be heavily subsidized if I were to go specialized with our by without a polyclinic or go referral?

No, not government subsidies. There are no subsidies for private medical care, not in general anyway. This e-card system is designed to help you more easily find private sector medical providers that are on Prudential’s panel. Your Prudential insurance coverage can be somewhat more generous if you restrict yourself to panel providers. (All of the public restructured hospitals and polyclinics are also within Prudential’s panel.)

If your intention is to use the public system then it’s best (although not strictly required) to follow its referral rules, i.e. to get a specialist referral from a polyclinic (or A&E if an emergency) first. That’ll at least mean you burn through your annual limit slower and may, depending on your plan and rider, reduce co-pays/deductibles.
