Hi everyone. The first year of the warranty coverage is covered by the respective Telco whereas the second year of warranty coverage (AppleCare) is covered by QCD Technologies at Tai Seng.

They're now all under AASP coverage. Telcos no longer offers iPhone after-services. A list of AASPs can be found here : https://locate.apple.com/sg/en/

[Singtel] Telco iPhone queries/discussions
[Starhub] Telco iPhone queries/discussions
[M1] Telco iPhone queries/discussions

I hope this clears everything up.

Question about iphone 5 repair

My iphone5's sleep button is super unresponsive, and my battery life is terrible, so am thinking of bringing it in for servicing (still under warranty). Have some qns:

1. Should I bring it to a starhub customer service centre or to an apple repair centre?

2. Any idea how long repair takes? Will I be provided a temp phone?

Thanks in advance!

1) where do you get it from? Telco or apple.com.sg? if telco just go starhub customer service centre will do.

2) if it's genuine problem they will do a 1-1 exchange. apple don't do repair for iPhone.

=D

If its a set purchased from Starhub bring it down to Starhub instead. QCD will not entertain sets not purchased from Apple

Apple AppleCare Iphone Repair- First Year Singtel Repair, Second Year Authorized Service Provider

Hi all,

Sharing my experience on Iphone AppleCare Warranty "Repair"/ Replacement:

If your warranty is still within 1 year (even if you buy AppleCare), Go back to Singtel/ M1/ Starhub service centre. QCD (Apple Authorized Service Centre) will not repair for you.

QCD will only "repair"/ replace if is within 1 years (Buy from website) or between 1 year to 2 years (Telco and Applecare) or Out- of- warrantly (extra revenue for Apple).

So much so for Apple "Support"

Dont trust Apple Website when come to service centre location. The website dont tell you the full comprehensize information.

Feel jin perplexed....till today, user still have the impression that local iphone set warrant a repair rather than a refurnished set...is not mandatory to know..but just feel that the first 3G model was launched here in 2007(?) and yet 6 years later still talking about repair by the agent...:s8::s8:
Really W.O.L.S ......

Yeah, was told this as welll... If u bought your phone from telco, even after buying AppleCare 2nd year still must go back to telco exchange.

I don't think that's really possible.
They'll probably call you up when stocks for exchanging arrives.

But QCD have a notice that they will repair phones with 2nd year AppleCare.

Maybe you can call QCD before going down.

The irritating part about Apple is that they wasted my time.

But the positive part is that they offered complimentary express service due to their incomplete website information.

Still, damage done in wasting 3 hours of life

Hi,

if there's a small black dot (perhaps a super tiny crack?) on my iphone 5 camera lens, such that when i take picture there's like a 'dead pixel' in the photo, can I request for a 1 - 1 exchange at Singtel? BTW, is there a limited number of times I can exchange 1 - 1 for iphone 5 within the 2 years warranty period?

Thanks!

I believe as long as its a valid issue, you can replace it as many times at the service center and with Applecare activated for 2nd year.

Personally, I would tell them that my pictures come with with this dead pixel.

Maybe compare with pictures previously taken that were okay. I'm not sure how Singtel qualifies for the exchange, but I would not point out that something is broken or cracked.

What I saw at Starhub is that the CSO would take out the SIM tray and flash a light into the SIM compartment to check for liquid damage.

Once cleared the CSO would go to their back office and return with a seal white flatish box, with the replacement iphone.

I would think if the phone has too much comestic damage such as cracks or big dents, they may reject the replacement.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply!

Just a quick question regarding the warranty period. I assume the iphone 5 I bought from Singtel is of 2 years warranty right? The first year will be under Singtel, which guarantee a 1 - 1 exchange, and the 2nd year will be under some Apple service center which will most likely repair your phone? Or I have to buy some extended warranty thing to qualify for the 2nd year warranty?

Thanks for viewing!! :)

It should also be another 1 to 1 exchange.

All Apple iPhones come with a year of AppleCare (Warranty). You'll need to purchase AppleCare coverage for your second year of warranty.

Your second year of warranty will be under QCD Technologies.
