Thanks for the reply!! I get it now, must exchange before my warranty is over! :)

That's right! If you intend to use it for another year I would encourage registering another year with Applecare before your warranty ends. Cos once the default warranty ends, you can't register the Applecare to the device anymore.

No need to register so soon because if "touchwood" warranty voided, than the Applecare wasted. You can submit the registration online or by calling in Apple Support to register.

I would think with Applecare make's it easier to sell the phone.

That's weird, cause I've changed my 2nd year (Applecare Warranty) Starhub bought iPhone at the Starhub service centre before. No questions asked. If I remember correctly, the applecare was bought via Apple.com.sg.

hm... I don't get the part with registering another year with Applecare? Is it free or do I have to pay for it? Under Applecare (2nd year), can I exchange 1 - 1 phone so that i sell a 'brand new' refurbished phone instead? :)

Errr... Default is 1 yr...

Want another year? Buy AppleCare and have to register before the default 1 yr ends.

So assuming u buy n have registered AppleCare, u can replace the faulty iPhone and possibly sell it off as a brand new refurb set.

2nd iPhone warranty queries

Hey guys, i bought a 2nd hand iphone 5 recently with warranty. My telco is singtel, so when there's something wrong with my phone do i go to singtel or the telco of the buyer?

If so, what do i have to bring along?

Get the receipt. If it is a telco set then bring it back to that particular telco.

A fren of mine is coming back from OZ and is selling his Aussie Ip5. It is still under warranty. Can anybody advise if there is any problem, can I claim warranty in SG or QCD?

Also, can I buy the Apple Care protection plan to add on the extra 12 months warranty to the phone?
