I have been searching the internet and scurrying forums for replies and feedback about the course work but to no avail.

The stuff that i know about are differences of money and time required to complete the course. The information i have from the internet are all about the debate of whose administrative was better and only very little about the lab work / books. I wish to know about how much exemptions and how it feels comparing to a polytechnic diploma (tougher / more or less the same stuff that were covered)

Just wondering if anyone who are doing the course or had completed the course, could possibly give some comments on whether lecturers coursework is well covered and sufficient. Thank you so much. Oh i would deeply appreciate if any life sciences students doing part time , specialist diplomas to also contribute! ;)

you must have meant biomedical engineering?

i ever thought of doing that course but i don't think i could afford the time and money for that. i was thinking i should gain some experience in this field / try see whether i like doing life sciences and how much i am willing to go in this field.

my results are just average, so local universities are already out of the question. yep. that is why i considered part time studies with these two institutions. :)

yes but unisim only has business and IT related programmes, with the exception of the one you mentioned (bioengineering) which i also had looked at.

up for positive replies! :o

my quick advice for u is to look at private institutions with concrete footing in leading the life sciences education such as MDIS and PSB. i don't know much about UniSIM because UniSIM is more suitable for business- and accountancy-related interests.

Totally disagree.

Private DL degree are mostly accepted by private company.

UniSIM are locally validated, its accepted in private as well as public sector.

appreciate your reply but allow me to draw you back to the purpose of this thread, which i created to gather more information on PSB and MDIS biomedical sciences.

i already have info about classes, the timings and course modules. I just wish to know how people doing the course are feeling right now. :o or some experiences they can share in these field.

got free shuttle bus from queentown but it packed to the brim and aircon not cold and there are alway illegal parking outside the school (nite time) on both side the road thus make it a challenge for driver of bus and cars to move lol =:p

entrance fee for the school carpark drain your cashcard lol since no discount and got clamping zone lol and it $150 but dont seem to be enforced lol

nope it mdis  i on another course offer by them

between u need to chase the coordinator for results, timetable changes or another other questions as they are being over abused by students

watch out for frequent change of class and sometimes they dont inform u or sms u too late or send sms wrongly to other batch... or coordinators being changed without informing u

thus be alert for anything...even during exams venues or materials can be misplaced :s22:

and the notes and lecturers are both good and bad...depend on the school able to get the good first otherwise u are stuck with them and some speak in mono tones which are bored if the lectures are bored...

submitting of assignment or payment of fees either u get to school early or u need wait for at least 20mins... now better got seats and news to watch...last time need to stand and students already frustrated while standing to submit or payment thus think counter people get the shout from us... =:p

even saw someone bring suitcase fill with $50 dollars notes for payment... i behind him want to pay fees but left...waste of time to wait for her to count

aircon in the class are not bad in some classes while other not working and pls watch out for faulty seats or tables or even those that u sit down will start to itch =:p

ignore the no drinking nor eating the signs since lecturers if they dont mind it so help yourself to the food =:p

get ready a thumbdrive as some lecturers are kind enough to let u copy his or her notes as their notes is better than the school provided lol

u need to buy a refence book or get one from the library and do u know what =:p unless your lecturer say no need

printing of notes or assignment from library is expensive so unless urgent or desperate dont do that unless u have money to spend

btw lab coat are need for every lab... pls remember to bring or be temp loan for free for first time sequent time be $10 with name taken down to prevent people from cheating

just to add to NWT1978's insights, i also used to be a part time student of a few months at MDIS College, taking A-levels privately 2 yrs ago. lab facilities good, but the lecturer and notes not good and the answers lacking depth. the lecturer looked sian and just went thru the answers without explaining why and how. thats why i got C for my chemistry and physics. :(

although there are a lot of issues regarding the admin, i'm still leaning more towards mdis rather than psb because of the direct honours and shorter time required to complete the course.

for more replies :o
