what is d/l... and what degrees will duke nus accept. how bout busines related degrees from SMU

d/l is distant learning that you studied from private institution such as PSB. I don't think business related degree can get into duke nus. If I'm not wrong its already not easy for medicine degree holder to enter duke nus so business related degree might not be possible.

Wait. Duke-NUS medical degree is only open for degree holders, they didnt specify what degree. I think it would be prudent for those interested in a medical career to email their admins.

Also if you already have a medical degree, why would you even need to apply to Duke-NUS?

My cousin is from this industry.

From what I hear all D/L biomed degree are unable to get into Duke Nus.

Both school graduates will end up becoming production supervisor or saleman in this industry or end up doing other jobs that is not related to this industry.

Not true. I've seen UWA and Bradford graduate working in research lab doing the same things as local grads are doing.

Duke-NUS will accept 2:1 and above degree from any discipline.
Regardless of what degree you are holding from whichever university, you will still have to get thru MCAT

Most people who do a life science degree will go on to do Honours and then a PHD to be competitive. A PHD opens up alot more opportunities to grow your career. A BSc in life science is very limited and you can be a teacher, research assistant, drug/medical equipment sales man etc.

Alternatively you can use the degree to try and enrol in the Duke-NUS medical school, they just open shop recently.

So did anyone with a D/L Life Science degree carry on to study a Masters in Life Science at NTU/NUS? Care to share your experience, like easy to get in Masters at local u? thanks =)

i am deciding whether to take mdis or psb biomed. the advantage about psb, to me, is the high ranking and better support staff (tts wad i heard). in terms of length of study i still prefer uob, and mainly becoz i prefer the uob contents more compare to uwa.

anyone who studied uob is able to get into govt hospital to work?

EASB East Asia Institute of Management has recently launched a part-time BSc (Hons) Medical Bioscience degree, from Aston University (UK).

18 months, $18,600.

Ranked 34th in UK (The Guardian - University league table 2012)

UOB is ranked #86.

Might be worth checking out, as an alternative to UOB.

Doing a PhD is not easy. Most of the time, you need to invest about 5 years (on paper, it says 4 years..)

Other than the possibility of a Permanent Head Damage, your tend to feel lost half way through. Your friends are climbing up the career ladder while you are stuck in the lab waiting for an experimental results.
