Current specs:
  • Ryzen 7 7700X (OC/PBO enabled)
  • Zotac RTX 5070 Ti
  • Lian Li Lancool 207 (planned)
  • 2 x1 16GB DDR5 RAM Kingbank Dark Heatsink
  • B650M Plus WiFi
I'm planning to change my case to the Lian Li Lancool 207.

Since the case has a relatively short PSU length limit and its a front-mounted PSU design, PSU cables provided need to be able to reach the MB connectors etc. I'm looking for recommendations on a suitable PSU, 850W and above.

Your best bet is to find PSU that is not having depth more than 150mm ... below are what I've tested, most PSU are with flat cables except for Lian Li, as flat cables are extremely easy to cable manage in Lian Li 207. Though Lian Li are sleeve cables but it's still easy due to the small footprint. You might want to wait for other bros here to list some others.

Note : Use original modular cables and not extension cables.

1) Lian Li SX850P [140 (D) x 150 (W) x 86mm (H)]
2) Montech Century II 850W [140 (D) x 150 (W) x 86mm (H)]
3) Asus TUF Gaming 850W Gold ([150 (D) x 150 (W) x 86 mm (H)]
4) Adata XPG Core Reactor II VE 850W [140 (D) × 150 (W) × 86 mm (H)]
5) FSP VITA GM 850W [140 (D) × 150 (W) × 86 mm (H)]
6) Asus Prime 850W AP850-G [150 (D) x 150 (W) x 86 mm (H)]

Montech Century II 850W140 mmCybenetics PlatinumATX 3.1Best value, excellent internal platform, quiet grille mesh design, manual Eco switch.

frm cybernetics ytd i did rough check there was superflower model for 1000 rank 4 overall but it was using 9 pin on psu side and also the cables r not flexible, quality psu for sure but these 2 caveats make me wanna reconsider, have to say that my budget below 250 for 850/1000 w models

No need to think already. Seasonic Vertex 850W Gold ATX 3.0 = $239. If want to save more, Seasonic Focus 850W Gold ATX 3.1 = $210. Both 10 years warranty.

Can get from either Dynacore or next door VII Computers.

personally wouldnt even consider these as they do not perform as well as the others, especially for the budget ts has in mind where genuinely good options can be had. the lian li sx0850p would be my pick as it is among the best performing locally available units around $200, and at 140mm long should fit comfortably in the lancool 207's limit of 160mm.
but it was using 9 pin on psu side
curious to know why this would be a downside.

its 160mm long, right at the limit of the lancool 207, may be harder to manage the cables.

yes you will want it. This 8 gen fixes 7 gen problems by using standard 12v hpwr holes, you can use any replacement like rog equaliser :o

their 7 gen used their proprietary 9 pin and users noted it causes current imbalance at gpu side

The newer fish scale sleeves is softer a bit than their 7 gen cable too. The extra cuttings make it easier to bend

It is not corsair braided soft but you will want it!

do we really need such a high power PSU?
TS spec looks okay to use 750W.
A good 850W has alot of buffer already.

You hit the right spot (y)(y)(y) that's why I place them below from the my chart. If I have the budget at $200+, I will go for the Lian Li SX1000P. Ive tested these units while benchmarking processors with mobos and GPU.. the SX1000P and SX1200P againts Seasonic Vertex PX1000 and PX1200. These Lian Li PSU are rock solid performer. Not only that, while maintaining PCs for friends or colleague's who took up the recommendation, the voltages stay strong. Hardly any significant vdrop.
On top of which.. cables are long, cable management is super duper easy due to the PSU Depth at 140mm.
thanks for your insight too :)
