anyone have a success getting qemu to work? can share your cmd line? it reached up till ubuntu loading then stops.

cmd i used
qemu-system-x86_64w.exe -boot d -cdrom ubuntu-20.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso -m 2048 -vga std

questions
1. how to increase screen resolution
2. how to enable use of logical processors (currently it keep loading at max on 1 logical processor)

Does qemu on windows even have a hardware hypervisor to use? If not, why bother? :s11:

Hi ! I want to say thank you to your post.

I've been trying to run Ubuntu on my Windows. I thought I could just get the Docker version but realise that it's a minimal version (didn't know about this as I was just a casual linux user last time long ago). I try installing the full desktop on it, etc and just could not get it working right. Just could not get the x windows working. I've also tried WSL2 version and remote desktop, it worked but I didn't want to use remote all the time.

I saw your post and tryied out virtualbox. It's great ! I can now try out Ubuntu and I think I'm getting to like it more and more.

You didn't realise that when you wrote this, you would help a silly person like me, right ? But it did. And I would like to say thank you very much !
