qns for sim uol students

1. when does school start? online says july intake. uol booklet says august 12.
cos I need to give 2 weeks notice to my boss if school stats in july cos i temp untill end of july.

2. when does one get acceptence letter? a bit worried since already reject by the 3 uni. fyi I alpplied 3rd week of march.

3. when is there briefings for new students? is it impt? cos i going over causeway for a week in end may and dun wanna miss it if got impt stuff.

4. do uol students need laptop for studies? cos i saw quite a few using it when i went to sim to apply but was told dun need laptop, calculator will do. if so what do those ppl who bring laptop use it for? like assignments on the net?

5. total fee? booklet/brochure says 3 year ft course costs 25k. was told includes textbook notes etc. but how much misc costs are there on top of 25k.*

6. how is campus life? i heard ppl say just go there 3-4 hours everyday then can go back home already cos nthg to do at sim.*

Hard to say. May/June most likely.

End of June/July. Would be best if you could go.

No. A cheapo calculator will do. U might be looking at students from RMIT/UOW/UB/UniSim etc.

I heard next yr onwards have to print ur notes. TB not essential to own, just go library to borrow. SIM course fees + UOL reg/continue reg fee + exam fees + misc i will est around 30k for 3 yrs(ie no repeat mod) Not including pocket moeny n stuff

Kwan favourite word: Depends. 1 unit usually = 1 3hr lecture session per week. U want campus life can join CCA

If FT, then you start in mid-Aug.

I am not sure how big each cohort is, but the most popuiar are from AnF & BnF. Approx 100 ppl get 1st class every yr.

You will be provided subject guides (not textbooks) from UOL which are gd enough for 1st yr units.
