Qualcomm says that the first Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 devices will be available in Q3 (July-September). And there is a long, long list of makers that are hard at work building those devices.

Here they are in alphabetic order: including

Asus ROG, Black Shark, HONOR, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, Oppo, OSOM, realme, Red Magic, Redmi, vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE.

Samsung where? HAHAHAHA

It's made by TSMC and not by Samsung. It's known that Samsung lags TSMC by 2 generation despite their 5nm vs TSMC's 7nm

Not only that

The yield rate was reportedly 35% for Samsung while making the Snapdragon 8 Gen1. What this means is out of every 100 Qualcomm flagship chipsets that Samsung was making, 65 of those chips were not up to the quality to be used, and only 35 were good enough.

Due to the above that there likely won't be a Samsung phone with snapdragon 8+ gen 1 inside, and I won't buy a snapdragon 8 gen 1 phone.

Ya sia my snapdragon 888 get so hot when gaming de. I can't even use the 120hz otherwise it will heat up so much and drain the battery. Only can last half day if on 120 Hz

you cannot change the maximum thermal die properties no matter how many versions you make, there is also no special magic metals to use, there is no magic thermal glue to use ... so to me 99% of the chart is marketing booshiat. the only way they can make improvement is by manipulation of cores and expanding die area for thermal dissipation and actually put in larger amt of metal frames for real world thermal dissipation. you can also no longer make anymore large improvements by speed...

they should seriously stop using the old intel stupid charts

You type so much when the time you spent typing can invalidate your own claim

The CPU performance is better in the Plus model and it offers higher FPS per watt - 1.74 vs. 1.41. The total power consumption of the CPU was 9.88 watts for the Plus model and 9.61 watts for the standard one.

The GPU numbers are even more interesting. The Plus model now made 4.07 FPS per watt, while offering higher FPS count at 23.7, and consumed 5.6 watts. In comparison, the non-Plus did 3.27 FPS per watt, 20.1 maximum fps, and consumed 6.07 watts.

And if these are not statements for the improved power efficiency, you can look at the NPU scores. Both models have spent about 6.3 watts, but the Plus model offered 52.6 FPS per watt versus 35.8 FPS per watt on the vanilla one.

35.8 fps to 52.6 fps for same amount of power

the other stupid thing everybody follow is screen resolution
7inch dia = 135 sq cm
32in dia = >2800 sqcm
the difference = >20x in screen area
for similar eye retina density, only 1/20 useful screen information is processed by human eye
the cpu end up 19/20 of gpu processing is wasted power
but the hype is real ... everybody is brainfarked in the end

the process of making everyone stupid by marketing is real

The last good chip in a smartphone was the Snapdragon 865. After that all messed up.

I agree
4k in a 7 inch phone vs full hd. Is it actually useful?

"I buy Flagship so I want highest resolution!"

But most can't really differentiate the difference between FHD and QHD/UHD.
At least I can't.

Maybe Tablet size is different story.
