Queries on ITIL

Hi there, I'm looking to take on ITIL V4 certification. But a simple google returns so many different results that it is quite confusing which is which.

1. Can I take the exam without going for the course?
(I think if self-study should be suffice to clear it )

2. Should I take ITIL V3 then ITIL V4, though they are different scope, or should I just go ahead and register with ITIL V4?

3. I see that NTUC learning lab has the option to buy the exam, but not sure when is the exam?

2. V4. Older version are retiring.

3. Exam voucher can be purchase and to be consume within 1 year (most of the case). To book an exam using exam voucher, you need to log into pearson vue for the date. If you are not buying exam voucher, check with the person that you are buying, for the actual date.
