I heard from a friend that a guy from his unit has been awol for almost 3 months already and yet nobody has contacted or visited him until now. How is this possible?

From what i heard he say his name not in first parade list so nobody knows.

What happens if he awols until his ord date, like that cannot catch him already?

Well if the person who should be contacting/visiting him ain't doing his job, of course it's very possible. If that's what you are asking...

I think if AWOL for a certain period will become desertion liao. When caught will face the music lor. Not bound by the ORD date or what not.

It's no longer the unit job to visit or contact him once absentee report is filed. It's the MP job.

His ORD has to be cleared by a superior, if the superior does not even see that guy, how can the superior sign the ORD release documents for this guy?

His ORD date will only extend perpetually or even "expire" until he comes back. Btw, do inform your AWOL friend that he needs to serve back the period he AWOL + period in DB. There is no discount as in like, serve DB can liao!

Infact it is very time consuming to delay your ORD and wasting your life away in NS unless you are happy with that NS pay.
