I am thinking of getting an e reader for my brother. Want some advice. I know getting the kindle requires vpn to purchase books coz Amazon only sells ebooks for US users. that's too troublesome my bro won't like it so it's off my list. What I want to know is whether I can purchase e-book directly from kobo with the aura or the one from nook. Thanks in advance

Been using kindle with an amazon account for many years now. No problem syncing my books bought on amazon whatsoever.

Do you just buy e-books on Amazon itself than download to kindle?

It's quite easy to buy ebooks from amazon if you have vpn and a debit or credit card.

I am on Kindle for many years. Never have to use VPN at all to download the books. So it should be relatively easy for your brother to buy books from Kindle without needing to meddle with the internet settings or setting up VPN whatsoever.

Confirm don't need VPN anymore to buy kindle books from Amazon. I have bought books through amazon and downloaded to my kindle via WIFI. The only issue is the Kindle App for IOS is not available on the Singapore store so cannot read the books you buy on the iphone.

Sounds good!! just to check if you've ever purchased books directly using the Kindle 3G without a US issued CC?

I'm currently using a Kobo reader, planning to move over to the Kindle as Kobo's warranty support really sucks.
