Hey everyone, I'd just like to find out under the new 3 station IPPT, in what scenario will one have to go for the extended BMT? The cmpb website doesn't make it exactly clear whether I have to go for the 8 week pre BMT PT if I fail the JC NAPFA? My concern is because while I'm doing alright for all the other station, I can't pass shuttle run for nuts and my pushup scores are also pretty bad...

Uhhh they only do 3 stations today not ippt. After your a levels you are required to take ippt at selected venues at stadiums to get your official ippt score. I would say there's a technique to get max push up and sit up. It's easy. And if you get to pass your ippt 1 month prior to your enlistment date, you can actually extend it 2 months later to progress straight to the enchanced batch

Wait so does that mean even if I fail the in-school assessment, so long as I book an appointment for a re-assessment and pass that at least one month prior to enlistment I can still be exempt from the 2 month early enlistment?

I couldn't find a definite answer to "what if I fail IPPT based on the in-school assessment" on the cmpb site. Though they did mention the following which is kinda vague too https://i.imgur.com/6ykYKIH.jpg

Doesn't matter how many times you fail, be it in school or whatever. As long as you pass it once at least 2 weeks before you enlist, you serve 1 year 10 months. provided you combat fit pes la

If I'm not wrong, 1 year 10 months is for those who achieved at least a silver for napfa test before their enlistment. If bronze/pass/fail, means need to serve 2 years.

Apparently changed since the introduction of the 3-station IPPT

I took this from the CMPB website.

"If you are medically graded PES A or B1, you will enjoy an 8-week reduction in your full-time NS duration if you attain 61 points or more from the three Pre-Enlistee IPPT stations (with a minimum of 1 point from each station) at least two weeks before the Physical Training Phase (PTP) enlistment in order to qualify for direct basic training. Otherwise, you are required to undergo the 8-week PTP."

61 points is a pass for active servicemen, which would mean as long as you pass, you should get the 2 months deferment.

However, personally, I was from the PTP batch, and I rather enjoyed it. I've had friends from PTP, and they say that their trainings are quite relaxed, as they have an extra 8 weeks, and it doesn't feel rushed. Kind of depends what company you are in, but my friend ha said that his trainings generally all end by 6, afterwards it is just admin time.

Of course, it there are things like outfield, or similar, that would not happen....

supported by my link in my previous post. If u are to fail IPPT, your BMT shall be 8 weeks PTP + 9 weeks BMT.

definition of failing is below 61 points.

therefore, what kind of definite answer are you looking for?

Hmm that's an interesting perspective, thanks for sharing!

Ah it was with regard to "If I don't manage to pass IPPT in school, can I still pass it by making appointment". Guess that was answered today by the PE teachers in school. I've until mid-May to pass it, else I'll have to settle it myself.

Thanks for the help!
