i read the following difference from the same thg article...

To conclude, if you want only high-quality caps in your PSU and you also want to avoid the SF-550F14MG's problem with its power-good signal, then stick with EVGA's 550 G2, which uses only Japanese caps and, although it has a lower than 16ms hold-up time, its power-good signal is inline with the actual hold-up time.

er...so in conclusion it is good? sorry, abit chim for me... ><

There actually has been a few updates on this, with the most recent ones that I can find, stating that the G2 550W is safe, but not the 650, 750 and possibly 850. However, since these are on the same platform, we cannot be guaranteed that the revisions that we purchased are safe.

Of cos, electricity in Singapore generally dun have frequent brownouts (not my old place in AMK though), it might not be that big of a deal. Still, why choose a PSU with a known flaw when there are other options to consider?

hi everyone.

i believe i have the same issue as OP. basically i bought a PSU from amazon. when it came the power cable is US type so i have been using it via a multi pin adapter. just wondering if can buy a 3 pin cable so easier to use. OP talks about 10A cable because that's what is written on the manual and that's what the US type cable also uses leh.. how ah?

Yes you can just use a UK 3 pin cable of 10A or 13A fuse, heck even 5A probably works fine here.

I'm using the 1300watt psu, change the power cord to a power cord that fits the psu. The fuse inside the power cord, I suppose shld be 13a. So far so good
