No benefit no reason. I think its just one of those things where the supply vs demand things where there is no more production or demand for 4x4gb ram anymore. Then amazon profit algorithm goes kuku and decides that that price is the "market price"

Most likely it may take more effort to find 4 sets that matches well vs just 2 sets? In any case, just get the cheapest 32gb.

And if possible, maybe even the 32gb one.

There is no advantage to 4X compared to 2X except that it might look nicer with all four RAM slots populated.

I have the DDR4-2800 version of that 4X RAM and can confirm above.

based on simple electronics theory, the 4 sticks will take up more power vs 2 sticks. I go for 2 sticks~

Answer = Market Supply and Demand causing price fluctuations.
4x is a waste of money since your CPU and MOBO will not support QUAD Channel RAM its mainly for servers and no FPS gains for QUAD Channel RAM in gaming.

Personally moi uses Single Channel RAM for System Stability.
Downside is lower FPS.

Sibei annoying when System cannot boot and internal speakers keep screaming cos dual channel ram not working in sync.

2) Ryzen is dual channel only.
