from the old 16mb to now 16gb and up....

i find its the OS who is making us upgrade the needed ram.
the old xp need about 2gb to run well.. 4gb for best..
then vista needs at least 4gb... to run well...
then now let not talk about win 7 or win 8.1...
no 8gb no talk...
4gb lag like ****....

so is it us who wants all the upgrade or its the makers making us do so...

please share ur views.....

of coz with ssd no lag... but not everyone will buy a SSD. or feel that its too ex for a 128-256gb storage.. coz 1tb hdd cost 60+...
beside in the early days of vista or win 7... not everyone loads a ssd..

last time os run 32bit, now 64bit. Try to find software that running 800X600 resolution use basic software like notepad. And you can always switch to andriod or linux, they can run android with only 126mb RAM with terminal command.

Secondary PC. Windows 8.1 x64. 2GB RAM. Fluid and smooth. No SSD.

Says a lot about the computer competency of a user with 8GB memory and experiences lag.

PEBKAC?

Using a HP slimline found and repaired computer with only 2GB ram, i3 530, 320GB HDD and AMD HD4350 512mb vram paired with Dell U2410. Running silky smooth on Windows7 HP 64bit O/S with 44 processes from all users.

Even if you installed 32GB ram, the system will still lag like hell if you start the system with 100+ processes, SSD won't help much with such monstrous amount of active processes.

not really, with a ssd, anything can become smooth. 109 background processes and 7 apps with no lag.
