I have purchased this unit in Dec 2014. Gotten a new replacement set few weeks later because of these defects:

1) Blade shuts down on average at the 30 to 40 min mark after playing BF4. The Blade became oven hot. I happened everytime I played BF4.

2) After the auto shutdown, the Blade fails to charge during plugged in.


Currently my replacement set, also experience same problem. This time I tried on the Witcher 3 on low settings.

Is a high end expensive gaming laptop suppose to perform like this?

Very frustrated with the Razer support service also, keep asking me to perform useless tests and give advices like do not place the laptop on the bed or blanket!

I suspect is the manufacturing batch problem. Anyone same with me?

Got 2, 1 of the 2 have overheat issues. RMA'ed it with 14 days of purchase. however I am not the user of either.

if you ask me, technically... should not happen la...

but then singapore weather hot... are you playing in aircon room? with cooler pads?

Hmm how much difference can it make? I use cooler but mostly without aircon.

Me thinks air con room makes a lot of difference.

Previously dealt with the razor support at Chai Chee, tell them unit overheat. but user is playing in non air conditioned environment. They take and test then come back say no issue.

I think they oso bo chups, testing most likely done in air conditioned area.

Tbh i oso dunno what can you do.

How about you record a video of yourself playing game on the laptop with visuals clearly showing the serial number of your laptop then hopefully capture the auto shutdown. Then make a record of the event log showing the shutdown.

Then send in for support plus give the video as proof and clearly state on the RMA form that "something is wrong and dun tell me everything is working fine"

Thinks that's the only way you can show proof that the laptop is faulty. Otherwise every time you send to them, they test and come back tell you working fine. Nothing will be done.

hahaha.... but the flat surface thing is becos the air vent is at the bottom ma. cannot play on bed la.

usually standard procedure for the testing. its not meant for more technical advanced customers, as they will find it lame. but technical advanced customers represent a small percentage of their customer base.

Aiyah, you spend so much money on the laptop, you have to be happy with it. if not happy then sell it off lor. then move on.

Hey bros,

I have the exact same prob! 2 weeks into the purchase of the 2014 Blade.

Played BF4 20-30 mins and it goes into auto shutdown and wont resume until I keep the power button down and re-plug the AC - in. Now artifacts start to appear ingame!

Just last night the battery doesn't detect after reboot (but still can run while unplugged).

May I know how did Razer resolve your case?

I've logged in a report but the response is slow, back and forth.

Thinking of directly heading to Razer office in Chai Chee, anyone tried?

I sent to Razer @ Chai Chee, but they say they can't replicate, say all is fine no issue!

I am not sure i believe they tested it correctly.

I bought the blade 14 on June this year. Never really used it. Probably 1-2 times per month. Battery life super cui. Like if I never power it on for a week, I can't even power on as it on as the battery will have only 5% left from a 100% charge. Normal use surfing Web only only can last 2 hours. Does anyone have battery issue on their blade 14? My 5 years old acer 3820tg can last longer.

hey dude, i experience the exact same problem as u all did especially playing bf4, now the problem got worst the blade will auto shutdown after 30 minutes even i was playing csgo. i tested a few games and gta runs fine in solo session accept it auto shutdown when i join a mission. the only game i even played lasted more than 2 hours are star wars battlefront beta. i called the sg hotline support few times and they try to put the blame on me, i told them i was playing in air cond room with my best cooler master cooling pad i ever had. now when i play any game the processor temperature will rise up to 99 degree, gpu follow up by 89 degree. It was frustrating for me that i have the game to play but my laptop has overheating issues, i can get a desktop anytime but it was inconvenient despite i travel around. i really hope they came up with some solution with this.
