Welcome to the Realistic People Club.
In light of both positive people club and negative people club focusing on either end of the spectrum of mindset, I've decided to start this as a middle ground for people who feel they are neither positive nor negative. People who want to analyze and face situations objectively and achieve outcomes that can be both positive and negative depending on circumstances. People who want to help others by giving realistic and practical suggestions rather than impractical or perfunctory ones. People who hate the doom and gloom of toxic negativity that causes your mood and problems to become worse than before you entered the thread. This is a place to share real world problems and get realistic and practical suggestions on resolving it. It is also a place to chit chat if you are a realist.
Realist vs Positive
Realists tend to be more practical and realistic in their approach towards life situations while optimists have a tendency of seeing the brighter side of life. Realists take into account all the factors involved while optimists tend to focus on one or two factors that they think will lead them towards success without considering other factors that could potentially lead them down a wrong path.
Realist vs Negative
A realist is a person who believes very strongly in being grounded in reality, and not swinging too much towards optimism or pessimism. A realist is more likely to be objective about situations and can solve problems planning for both positive and negative outcomes.
A pessimist is someone who always looks on the dark side of things, and thinks about all the negative outcomes of an event or situation. They tend to dwell on this, which can be very draining for them and others around them.
