Recommend 17 Inch Laptop

Hi guys! I am looking for a 17 Inch laptop that have excellent graphics and performance. I like to use it for all purpose! Gaming, photo editing, watch HD movies and whatever I like to do with it.

So I am looking for a excellent overall performance 17 Inch laptop that would last me long.

Well, I know it is ridiculous to bring out 17 Inch laptop instead of a smaller ones... But I just like bigger screen. As I like to use it as my primary laptop.

About the weight, I know its going to be heavy but hope there are lighter ones.

I have seen two laptops that are favorable to me which are the samsung series 7 gamer and MSI GE70.

Lastly, I want the laptop's keyboard illuminated!

Based on my description from above, please recommend me a good 17 inch laptop that could really last me long!

Acer and Asus also have 17-inch models but these are not really gaming laptops... they do have discrete graphics cards but may not be in the same league as the MSI or the Razer Blade Pro. If money is no object, then the Razer Blade Pro looks good. But there is a comparo done on HWZ between the MSI and the Razer... do take a look... it seems the MSI is better value.

If the price is near $2000, I think its still within my budget. I don't know about the price of these laptop in Singapore. However, I saw a MSI G Series GE70 2OE-017US 17.3-Inch Laptop on Amazon going at $1300.

I'm not really good at computer specs, so basically I don't know how to compare various gaming laptop specs. x.x

Can't compare with Amazon lolx, if you want to see even lower one you can check Taobao.

But well warranty wised we not sure. but that budget you can get a decent notebook already.

If near $2000, that mean your graphic maximum is capped at GTX770M/ GTX765M.

Go for the Local Product(Aftershock) then to MSI/Asus, other than this 3 brand~ rest is quite pricy.

I got the GS70 at $2499 during launch. From what I heard, there are a few different alternative configurations now (and of course diff price for diff config) so u might wanna look around first.

Aftershock has some decent cooling for their laptops, but I don't fancy the design... wanted something sleek so I chose the MSI.

GS70 is quite expensive due to the SSD pre-installed in the machine :X i bet $2499, below is the price of the GS70 from PC_Dreams

I've shortlistedn the MSI GE 70, the Asus N750JV (rather than G750, out of budget) ... are there other options?

The most intensive app I will use is Photoshop CS6 ... watch some video... but most important to me is wireless connectivity, which is why I hesitated with the N750JV .

My preferred budget is S$1500 ... though I can stretch it closer to $2k.

Anyone know of newer models coming?

I was really into GS70 stealth due to its design but that would cost $400+ more compared to GE70. MSI quoted me GE70 $2,099.

I don't know which one I should get... x.x

... isn't wireless-N going to be like dated in the next year...

I would like to find something with 802.11AC, or else ... at least one of the dual channel wireless-N ... or an I missing something about the N750? The wlan seemed rather plain.
