4th slot mean ur gigabyte will be very close to the psu. Casing like S340 that have a shroud over the psu should be ok. But you wont be able to use the 2 2'5in slot on the shroud cover unless you do not mind ur SSD to be in a hot environment.

Cos of CPU constraint, die die the 2nd card must be on the 4th slot.

Huh, why put on 4th slot? The mobo with 28 lanes cannot do a x8 for you on 2nd or 3rd slot?

Went to SLS today and return empty handed... cant really find a suitable Full Tower case.. In fact Full Tower choices are very limited.

In win 303 and 8 series no stock... only 1 miserable 7 series sitting there.. the 909 looks good but $500+ ... also must order.

anyway i'll meddle with the SLI setting first before deciding whether to get a different case.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Guys what you all think of ATX cube case ?

the Corsair Carbide Series Air 740 will meet my requirement (2nd card wont be blocked by PSU), although it looks like a server.. LOL.

I saw the Lian Li PC08 very fap but $600+ and have to wait 8 weeks .....

yeah, the 8 weeks waiting time is from him :s13:

anyway confirm must change casing (or change CPU or card), cos 3rd slot really cannot SLI. In Bios it's detecting at x1 speed nia.

Maybe you can look for those PCI-e riser extenders?
Then can place you GPU elsewhere while the extender connects to the slot that allows you to use SLI.

Honestly, your motherboard is what is failing to perform its task. Then the GPU is just too fat. Can't really blame the case as that is the streamlined design of all mid-tower cases. Thus you have to look at cases that can support EATX mobos or out of the norm and usually expensive cases to solve your issue.

Personally not a fan of SLI and 3 monitor setup. We live in Singapore and not countries like Canada where their source of electricity comes from running water. Not worth using so much electricity. Sell 2 1080s and can get a Titan X (Pascal) and save yourself on the electricity bill. But not up to me anyways.

For cases, can look at Thermaltake Core P5. Being sold at $170 by Doreamon.
The cards are mounted away from mobo with those PCI-e risers so would not have an issue with mounting.

Jonsbo UMX4 also can. Got ample space below for your GPU too. But the question then is, will the SLI card that connects the 2 cards together fit? If not, then Cases with pci-e risers and different gpu placements will be better or change the limitating factor which are the motherboard and the CPU. So you can have a normal and beautiful case that makes your system shine.

Thanks for taking time to write the above, appreciate it...

not sure how riser works (will look around ) but i thnk it will also have issue when using the SLI bridge. aesthetically i think also an issue. Changing CPU is possible also, just saw a 2nd hand i7-5930k for $650 LOL...

3 monitors have their cons and i've done 3 * 23' a few years back. That time i didnt have the table space and the stand i bought was poor that it cannot align the 3 monitor properly. Now the experience is different due to higher monitor Specs, neater stand as well as cable management. The best part of course is gaming and it makes me really play ProjCars and Dirt much more.

PCI-e riser extenders is basically a cable that connects to the PCI-e slot that you want the GPU to be connected to and then connecting the other end of the cable to the GPU. The Thermaltake Core P5 allows you to mount the GPU in a different angle so you can easily mount it to allow you to use SLI.

And since the GPU is not directly connected to the motherboard, you are supposed to use the PCI-e extender cables as what can be seen in that specific timing of the video. This will definitely allow you to solve your SLI problem. Only issue is, it is an open case. Nice to a point. Good ventilation and all. But I don't want to have to constantly blow my system to get rid of dust.

Don't be surprise but a few open aired setup i came across isn't as dusty as one think. Simple, there is no point of suction anywhere.

I'll probably just grab the cpu. Changing case brings the hassle of taking apart your entire rig, while yielding zero performance gains. Upgrade the cpu improves your productivity work, however slightly. And with 40 pcie lanes, running your 1080s in full x16x16 reportedly improves SLI scaling in some situations. It might not have mattered in the past, but we're reaching the point where it does, especially with powerful cards under intense loads and high-resolutions surround set-ups.
And there's also the small matter of the hb bridge; you won't need to get another with extra spacing for changing slots- which also makes me wonder, why have you gotten the bridge before you're certain SLI would work in your desired slots?
