Hello all,

Have been reading the threads around here and finally decided to assemble my own comp. Been using a laptop for 5+ years alr so please give me your recommendations! :)

Intend to play games like battlefield, CS:GO
Need the whole set up (monitor, OS) (i think monitor max size 24 inch cos my table quite small)
House is on singtel fibre (router is Aztech-DSL7002GRV(S)) (I see that you guys usually recommend a wifi adaptor; how do i check compatibility for my house internet?)

budget: ~1.2k (able to increase 100-200)

looking forward to all the recommendations! :D

Thanks for the recommendation royfrosty! Could you also recommend a Nvidia GPU? (read a few reviews that were not so favorable for AMD) :s12:

Around that price only have 750Ti (Cheaper but is only entry level. Most likely cannot play newer games in future well) and 960(~$320). In terms of price to performance, the 280 will outperform the GTX 960

The AMD card is better in this price range

ok so i have more or less firmed up my build based on roy's recommendation above:

Mobo: ASRock H81m hds + i5-4460 ~ $296
RAM: Crucial 8gb 1600mhz Value Ram ~ $89
HDD: WD Blue 1tb ~ $70
GPU: Sapphire R9 280 3gb Dual X ~ $285 (wait for lazada.sg coupon codes)
PSU: FSP Aurum S 500w 80+ Gold PSU ~ $89
DVD drive: LG DVD Drive ~ $21
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM ~ $115
Monitor: Dell S2340L 23inch eIPS Panel ~ $198
[SSD - Samsung SSD 850 EVO Series 250GB - Bought from lazada at $159]

Casing: Corsair carbide spec-02 ~$84
Or: Corsair graphite 230T ~$105?
(any fit issues if i choose one of this cases?)

Comments on the above would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks!!!

Graphite is a slightly higher build quality than the Carbide.

But dont get me wrong. There are better Carbide models that are build very solid than Graphite at a higher range.

Anyway you should not have any issues on the fittings. It should fit properly and adequate spaces.

More of what you really like in the chassis.
